This is a beautiful bronze sword from the Spring and Autumn Period of Ancient China (Circa 770-476). The piece has a beautiful golden brown color. The blade is very heavy with a prominent midrib and beveled blade edges. The hollow round handle has what appear to be small casting flaws where there is loss to the metal. This area would have been covered by wrappings in antiquity to complete it. The overall length of the piece is approximately 50 cm and the weight is 461 grams. A beautiful sword of a type becoming increasingly difficult to find.

A strikingly beautiful Han Dynasty Hu Jar with a deep, rich, green glaze on the body and amber glazing at the interior of the throat. It displays a wonderful silvery iridescence as seen in photos of the base in particular. The piece is large and heavy at 14 inches in height. The piece was tested in 2004 by Oxford Authentication, LTD services in England. They are known as the premier testing lab for thermoluminescence analysis, which is conclusive for the dating of ancient ceramics. The original report from Oxford is, of course, included with the piece and authenticates the date of firing to the time period consistent with it's stated age from the Han Dynasty, 206 BC -220 AD.
