Egyptian Bronze Plume From An Atef Crown
Intricately cast bronze with horizontal tangs for attachment to the central part of the atef crown, a horn along the base supporting both the plume and a uraeus with solar disk headdress, the fronts of both recessed to have taken inlays, now missing. If you'll observe the picture enlargements closely, you can see beautiful, deep red cuprite and green malachite deposits which are so desirable in the ancient bronzes. Professionally conserved. 6 1/2" tall without the included custom base. Late Period, Ca. 600 B.C.- Ex. Howard Nowes Ancient Art, NYC
