Handsome pair of Japanese bronze candle stand “Shokudai”, Meiji period (1868 – 1912). It is a quality Japanese solid Meiji bronze, weighing 3.7kg (8.157lb) each. Each candle stand has a large tweezers hanging in the middle to pinch the wick. The wick will be stored in the pot set beneath. It makes a beautiful appearance in a house / shop.

A lovely large incense burner “Koro” in the shape of black-spotted red rabbit. Raku ware. It bears a seal beneath reads Mokubei. Circa early 20th Century. Rabbit is a symbol of fertility and sensuality. There is a lid on its back with a ventilating hole and the inside of the lid is decorated with gold paint (kindei). The piece is in very good condition and accompanied ay a paulownia wood storage box.

A beautiful image of a massive swimming carp - a noble fish. Finely painted on silk with ink. The signature reads shikibuno sato yusen hironobu. Kano Hironobu(1778-1814) was active in the late Edo period. He inherited the hamacho kano family and became a court painter.
