The painting depicted minka, which is a private residences constructed in Japanese building styles. With styles varying across regions, these houses used to be found all over Japan. But today, minka are disappearing at an increasing rate as it is seen as inconvenient for today's hurried and materialistic lifestyle. Painted with ink and pigments on silk. Signed Shuncho and sealed.
There are some light marks on the painting itself. The mounting is in good condition with insignificant light stains present, otherwise no other damages. The piece is accompanied by an original paulownia wood storage box with the artist signature. Painting: 13” x 46 1/8” (33.0cm x 117.0cm)
