Japanese Painting Zen Style Bamboo by Araki Jippo

Araki Jippo (1872-1944) was a pupil of a prominent painter Araki Kampo who were based in Tokyo. Jippo founded a Japanese painting society in 1897. He had an exhibit at the Japan-British exhibition held in London in 1910 where he was awarded a gold prize. The determined use of space and confident brush strokes sharply captures a moment of life in this minimal painting. Painted with ink on paper. Sealed Jippo. The artwork is attributed to Araki Jippo.

There are some marks on the artwork, otherwise no other damage present. The mounting is in fine condition. The scroll end is ivory, which implies the painting has been well respected. Please inquire if you wish to replace the end with different material one.
