Round in shape in the spirit of a kobako, this rare box in 2 parts in fundame lacquer represents a butsudan (small portable temple) inside which there are, very finely carved, a Buddha on the lotus and 2 apsaras. On the lids lotus leaves seem to fly.

Globular in shape, on a nashiji gold lacquer base, the decoration represents pines and bamboo in gold and black hira maki-e, hedatsu and kirigane of vegetation at the edge of a watercourse and stylized medallions of chrysanthemums. The interior is also in nashiji. Origin: Japan. Period: Edo (1603-1868) 19th century. Height: 5.5 cm.

Very pretty and rare boxes of a pair of gold and polychrome lacquered ducks in perfect condition. On a base of taka maki-e lacquer (feather reliefs) and nashiji (gold powder) inside. Period: Meiji (1868-1912). Length 14.5 cm x height 7.5 cm. Wooden box.

Very beautifully sculpted in the mass of bamboo, the decoration in gold lacquer and polychrome represents 2 Tengu (Japanese legendary creature or demon) under a pine pointing with a finger a vajra (ritual Hindu and Buddhist object, representation of the lightning and the indestructibility...). On the other side a decor of butterflies fluttering over a box in gold lacquer and a lance with at their feet are flowers in polychrome. The whole is very finely carved. Origin: Japan...

Very refined Japanese lacquered wood tray representing a branch of plum blossoms and bamboo leaves in gold and brown lacquer. The decor is placed on a brown base in the style of a basket weave. The back is in black lacquer (ro-iro). The protective wooden box is original and signed on the lid and inside. Dimensions: 10 x 18 cm. Period: Meiji (1868-1912) 19/20th century.

On a fundame lacquer base, the decoration, on one side, black and red, of a rooster, hen and chicks under bamboo with the sea in the background and on the other side a fisherman's hut by the sea in front of the imposing presence of Mount Fuji. The lacquer work is particularly subtle in hira and taka maki-e. The interior of the compartments is nashiji lacquer. The ojime is made of malachite. Signed: Nikkosai. Height: 8.4 cm.

Superb covered incense box entirely gold lacquered with decoration of bamboo leaves and wisteria in a lake environment and on a base of nashiji gold powder. The 2 parts of the box are surrounded by shibuishi (silver and copper alloy). Edo period 18/19th century. Diameter 6cm x Height 3,5cm.
