Very elegant scenery tray of a tea house along a river in a mountainous landscape. The top is completely covered with gold lacquer to the different techniques of solids and gold reliefs (hira and taka maki-e) and the inclusion of gold leaf (kirigane). The back of the tray is covered with gold powder blown (nashiji) and has 4 feet. Some wear visible on the pictures. Origin : Japan. Period : late Edo early Meiji 19th century. Dimensions: 34x25cm.
