The blade hira-zukuri form with bohi to either side. Indistinct ha and the hada of vague itame, the saya (sheath)decorated with overlapping variations of sasa-rindomon, maru ni-mokko-mon and hanabishi-mon and chrysantheumum blossoms floating on stylised rippled water. The tsuka wih other repeated foliate crests on a ground of kakrakusa (Chinese grasses). unsigned. total length 39cm (15.4in). Mounts Meiji, the blade Edo 19th century.
