During the Qihg dynasty the government issued coins for each reign period. Wood carvers produced wooden copies of the metal coins. Here are images of Wooden coins of the the Jiaqing, Daoguang and Tongzhi periods. The reverse side seems to be in Manchu script but as I do not read it, I cannot tell what it actually says. Coins are arranged Daoguang Jiaqing and Tongzhi Tianqi is in the upper right; it is a late Yuan early Ming reign; this is a commemorative not realistic "coin".
