This is a beautiful old cloisonne vase. It is 26 cm (10.5"} high and the width at the largest point is 13.6 cm. The colors are soft, not glaring. There is some minor pitting in places. But the shape is very nice and the condition is generally very good. Probably produced in Beijing in the late 19th Century.

This scowling reptile is supposed to be a frog, and probably is. But he reminds me of an Arizona Gila Monster -- a very poisonous creature. The object is bronze, probably 19th Century, many warts on his back -- and that face, only a Mother could love. Somebody took a little piece out of it long ago, making him even more ferocious. Made in China.

This is a very good Yixing "sanxianghu": Yixing claypot inside, wrapped with pewter on the outside, finished off with old jade (qing yu) original pieces at the handle, lid and spout. Calligraphy on one side, flowers on the other. This one has no mark in the base. The calligraphy is by one Su Chuan, a scholar of the 19th century. Very nice pot. Very good patina but a little dirty in places. We have not cleaned the pewter: that is for the next home!
