| this shield is either bango,hanga,bati,binja mbundja following ML felix in his weapon book "beauté fatale"1993p 182 ill 295 he dates these shields before 1920 they are made of wood(see the nice handle,)rattan and wowen fiber their fragile material and the adge makes them difficult to find in perfect condition here most of the wowen binding around is missing but it does not affect the beautiful wavy shape of the shield could be carefully restored(the one in felix book is surround by okapi skin ;(of course who has okapi skin?)but any similar skin could do | ||
