A superb Chinese export silver centre dish with a border of 6 panels: two featuring bamboo, two prunus and two figures. The stem is made in sections with a bolt and nut at the base. It has a magnificent head of a dolphin whilst its flaps are stylized as an engraved flat support ( please consult the images). height: 7 inches (18 cm) weight:20 oz. age: C. 1870. condition: excellent. Maker's mark stamped on the base nut as MK. probably Canton

A Chinese silver tea and coffee set, each piece embossed with a raised writhing dragon stretching around its bulbous body. The handles are formed as sea dragons and the finials of the covers also repeat the same motif. This is a substantial service weighing 1807 grams. ( 59 oz). Sets made for English and US clients usually had a creamer as well, but those for Continental Europe, especially Spain and Portugal did not . The tea, coffee and sugar basins are stamped HW, "90" and Chinese characters...
