| A Visagapatam box of oblong domed shape veneered with tortoiseshell and mounted with panels of fine ivory tracery appliques which are embellished with black penwork designs and silver studs. It stands on four lion's paws feet and the interior is lined with sandalwood. A very decorative object in good condition.size: 10 1/2 inches (26cm) x 4 1/4 inches (11cm) x 3 1/2 inches (9cm) high.age: C. 1870. condition: good, slight loss of tracery as seen in the pictures.wear consistent with age. | ||||||||||
