A Chinese ruyi scepter mounted with three jade plaques; the stones of even celadon hue and all carved with a stylized phoenix and flora. Well carved plaques, the ruyi is in good condition only a small flake of wood on the edge of the head has flaked off. See image 7. The catalogue image is rather over-exposed and does not show the details of the carvings. Please look at all the individual pictures. Age: 19 C. size: 19 3/4 inches (50 cm) long.
