A pair of Chinese mother of pearl shells carved in detail and with typical scenes of every day life: figures in landscape, buildings, trees, river etc. The quality of the shells is very good, image 1 shows a dark rim on one of the shells, in fact, this is due to the lighting condition of the image. Condition is excellent, they come with their custom-made ( later than the shells) hard wood stands. Age: C. 1890
