an uncommonly large Chinese coconut bowl carved very finely around the exterior with four roundels enclosing dragons, all against a diaper design background. It is raised on a round silver foot and the interior and the rim are likewise lined with silver. An extremely attractive item, it has also the advantage of being stamped with the English import silver marks for the year 1850. Additional markings are "SC" or "SG" denoting the maker's mark. size: 12 cm diameter. age: 1850. condition: very good, a slight ding depression to the interior silver lining
