A Chinese Export silver tankard of a large size, embossed with birds nestling amongst bamboo foliage. Double skin interior, it bears a presentation shield inscribed with dedication for cricket achievement " Athletics Sports Committee Cup,100 yards, won by C.H.E. Robertson, 5th May 1883". A high quality item from the famous studios of Wang Hing, it is standing at 14.5 cm high and weighs 22 oz. ( 346 grams). Condition; excellent, no restoration, no breaks. stamped WH and Chinese characters.
