| A rare Persian miniature with hidden erotic motif by the well-known 20th century miniaturist Haji Mosavar Olmolki of Isfahan.On bone or ivory, the head of a man with curly beard and hair featuring goats, rats etc. contains the erotic element in his nose and eye. We have not seen before eroticism in the works of this painter and so it must be a rare item.With borders of intricately executed multichrome floral and geometric design, this object of virtu is intriguing, subtle and very finely painted. The signature on the bottom left reads: " executed by Haj Mosavar Olmolki".Age: first half of 20 C. size: 10 x 9 cm. condition: very good indeed, well preserved framed and glazed. | ||||||||||
