| True to Victorian tradition, there has to be a serving piece for every use. This unusual silver-plated English serving piece has a beautifully engraved "shovel"-shaped end with one side flattened to allow for easy lifting of the pie or flan or whatever dish needs serving. The server is 9 inches long and the shovel-shaped front is 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/8 inches across. The marks are "WH$S" in oval indents plus 2 more marks that are difficult to read. There is a registration mark in a diamond that reads (clockwise) 2 FI6 with I in a circle on top. The front edge of the server has very slight wear. It dates from the early 20th century and is a wonderful addition to your buffet table. | |||||||
