| Axel Salto, huge vase for Royal Copenhagen 1949. The vase is decorated with his "living stones" decoration in high relief, covered with a vivid Solfatara glaze, creating a "painting" of contrasting collors and structures, very much in harmony with the streams of artistic evolution of the time. The vase is 15.7" (40 cm.) high, signed SALTO with the mark of RC. Two firering cracks of c. 1½-2" from the production is to be found on the inside, but not penetrating the piece, -this a very common type of flaw on large pieces.
