A Burmese Buddhist Temple Ceiling Panel
These are hung from the Temple Ceiling. Salvaged from Buddhist temple in Mandalay. Circa 1850 Red and yellow/orpiment lacquer over teak. They are beautifully finished in verso/both sides.See Enlargement 2 for reverse side photo. These are hung from the temple ceiling. The red side is displayed on festive occasions and Buddhist holidays. The green and yellow side for normal Buddhist ceremonies. The metal rings used for hanging these are intact. I purchased a number of these and we have five of them left in inventory. Have had these used by designers and architects as doors to entertainment centers , wine cellars and wall hangings.
