| This weight bearing architectural support is made from a solid piece of Northern Chinese Elmwood was most probably used as a supporting beam over an entrance. The scene is believed to represent Yue Fei (1103 - 1142 A.D.) who was a Chinese patriot and nationalist military leader who fought for the Southern Song Dynasty against the Jurchen (a northern tribe which established the Jin Dynasty). He is one of the best-known generals in Chinese history, and widely credited for the creation of the martial art known as Xingyiquan. Dimensions: Thickness: 5 inches Height: 12 inches Length: 52 1/2 inches Note: the custom stand is 6 inches high so must add 6 inches for total height with stand Dates to the Qing Dynasty circa 1860 It has ben custom mounted on sturdy steel legs to allow display.
