This colorful and vivacious Cultural Revolution color ceramics depicts a very well known Female People’s Village Communist Leader named “Jiang Shui Ying”. During Cultural Revolution, among the three elite classes of the PLA Soldiers, the factory workers and the farmers, the factory worker class was considered more superior than the peasant class. Thus when there was a conflict where one class needed to make a sacrifice, the sacrifice usually was made in the peasant class. This sculpture depicts Jiang Shui Ying leading the peasants in the People’s Village and made the sacrifice of letting a flood to go through the farm lands to avoid hitting factories.
