| This Cultural Revolution ceramics is of an familiar image called "Bai Mao Nu", or otherwise known as "the White Hair Woman". Featuring in this color ceramics is a famous scene from one of the 8 Peking Operas introduced and recommended by Madam Mao. The White Hair Woman was a girl who had gone into the forests to hide from a vicious land owner who killed her father. She was later rescued by the Red Army, led by the Communist Party. By the time she was rescued by the Red Army, she had lived in the woods and her hair had turned gray. This sculpture depicts a very famous finale scene from this Peking Opera. Size: 13" tall, 3" deep, 8" wide. | ||
