Titled “Bronze and Iron Walls”, this poster depicts Mao talking with peasants from Yan An. Yan An was the base for the Red Army during the civil war and the saying of “Bronze and Iron Walls” was a symbol of the Red Army’s strong defense system. This saying was used many times over to symbolize Chinese people’s strong will to defend outer invaders such as the capitalism later on. This poster was created by Shaanxi Art Creation Group, and published by People’s Art Publishing house in October 1972. Size: 15" by 21".
