This wood block print shows the different characters from the major Revolution Peking Operas and Ballets invented during the Cultural Revolution period. Headed by Madam Mao, 8 major Peking Operas and Ballets were created, called the Modern Revolution Sample Plays, these operas and ballets portrayed the class struggles and greatness of People. For instance, in the poster, there were characters from the Red Lantern, the White-Haired Girl, the Red Female Detachment.
