This pre-Cultural Revolution notebook2 from 196 was used for work studies. Picture of Mao Ze Dong and Zhu De were inside of the book. Mao's thoughts study were not in full implementation, though political studies were common and captured in this notebook by the original owner. Da Qing was mentioned in several places as a sample working unit. An old movie stub were also included in this notebook as a bookmark. What's really interesting about the notebook is it has a detailed record of who contributed what iron based instruments. During the Great Leap Forward, Chinese government encouraged Chinese citizens to turn in all perfectly good instruments and melted into useless metal. This was considered a political disaster and Mao was criticized for this campaign, known as Steel Campaign. This notebook provided a glimpse into the frenzy people were in during the early sixties.
