| Lovely faded gold leaves covered wooden medicine Buddha statue is holding the Apaan mudra, where the tip of the thumb with the tip of middle and ring finger are joined, while the fingers straight. An appropriate mudra held by the medicine Buddha, who is also known as the Healing Teacher, the Apaan mudra helps to clear the body by elimination of waste matter from the mouth, eyes, ears, nose, etc and is used today commonly in Yoga practice. This wooden Buddha has the faded gold leaves peeled from its wooden body caused by natural aging, thus formulating an unusual texture and distinct appearance for this lovely and remarkable piece. Red wax seal was put on this statue during export from China as it was examined and deemed antiquity by the Chinese customs. From Fu Jian province. size: 9" W x 6" D x 12".
