| This particular vintage hand carved marble Buddha statue features one of the most unusual mudra - "the loving kindess" gesture, for the loving Buddha. Buddha himself was said to have taught thousands of different meditation techniques in order to meet the diverse needs, experiences and levels of consciousness of the people who sought him out. The core philosophy of Buddhism is the simple truth of kindness. We need to be kind to ourselves, to all other beings and to the earth. This Buddha, with his hands on his heart reminds us this very simple yet fundamental principle of Buddhism, be kind. Lovely marble has experienced some aging, with brown patina forming. To expose the pristine white marble, one may use any high pressure hose filled with water to clean it.
