In 1976, Huo Guo Feng succeeded Mao Ze Dong to become the Chairman of China. His career was short lived. In 1978, Deng Xiao Ping took over and made the announcement of "Getting Rich is Glorious." Hua Guo Feng's legacy had become the unfortunate mockery, coined by Mao's words of "If you are taking care of it, I don't have to worry,” as seen in this poster. This sentence was originally used to refer Mao entrusting Hua to be his successor, however, since Hua Guo Feng was proven to be lacking direction or foresight, this sentence really became of a way of referring to his lack of ability to run things and was used later by others to refer to someone's inability. Poster was printed in January 1977 for the People's Liberation Army. 30” x 21”
