| We present a large and now rarely seen pair of 15th./16th. century Flemish medieval brass or bronze pricket candlesticks. Boldly cast with three large central rings, and hand forged iron prickets, these candlesticks embody the rugged nature of early European accessories. Though they are a pair, one exceeds the other in height by 1/2 inch, the taller measuring 19inches, while the other is 18 1/2 inches tall. This is due to an old repair and is not noticeable if they are placed flanking an object. They are a dramatic accent on top of a chest or Refectory table, and have an excellent provenance from the collection of Ruth Blumka whose legendary works of art can be found in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. | ||
