| Presented here from a fine old New York City collection, is a 16th./17th. century Italian Maiolica Plate. Decorated around its' border with gold and deep blue sprigs, the plate is further encircled with bold line and gadrooned borders. The central surface has a charming prancing horse, probably the original family's favorite. Measuring 9 inches in diameter, the dish is in excellent unbroken condition. The bottom central portion has some ancient surface hairlines which have not affected the structure or strength of the dish. Here is a very nice display piece with a rare animal depiction surely to delight. | ||
