A very unusual piece, shaped like a small egg with a MOP surface, and surrounded with a brass frame. The egg opens and the interior has a small thermometer set on a paper background on one side. On the other side there is a compass set in a bezel with a decorative engraved background. Really an unusual sweet little item . Probably from France, due to the spelling of 'Thermomètre'.

Condition: Very good, with minor discoloration to the brass.

Lovely antique Austro Hungarian two piece sterling silver buckle, with designs of baskets and cherubs. Marked with Austro Hungarian mark.

A wonderful wooden box, or case, in what may be pear wood. The piece is covered on all sides (excluding the base), with cut steel studs. There is a mother of pear escutcheon with an inlaid piece on top for initials. Handle is metal, there is a key that works, and the interior is a pink silk. Quite an unusual piece.

Condition: Cut steel handle and the studs have some minor rust or discoloration, but on the whole does not detract from the appearance. Overall, very good condition.

A very ornate Austro Hungarian belt buckle with designs of medieval figures & angels, some sitting and some standing, all around the circumference. Very well designed with pierced areas between the figures. Marked with Austro Hungarian hallmarks. Dramatic, and very wearable.

Condition: Very nice.

A beautiful table snuff box with a hand painted miniature of a lady set in a gold surround on the top. On the bottom of the box is a woven hair design layered under gold initials with a gold surround. Very unusual to have a table snuff box with an insert on the bottom as well as the top. Also unusual in that the box must be a mourning piece because of the woven hair under the gold initials. Quite a magnificent piece.

Condition: Very nice. A bit of wear on the top gold edging, but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance.

A very pretty embossed silver pencil with an agate base that has initials carved in it. The pencil has a ring that slides to raise and lower the lead holder. The agate base screws off store leads. Very attractive piece.

Condition: End of pencil tip Has a tiny bit missing (.5 mm). Otherwise in very good condition.

A very pretty antique Sterling Silver Belt Buckle C. 1887 with design motifs of masks and thistles. Pierced and scroll work design. The piece is both attractive and wearable.

Condition: Very nice. Beautiful luster to the silver.

A very large attractive buckle with a sterling silver lion mark and a makers mark of WR. Intricate design with scroll work, flowers, and six mask faces along the sides. A lovely dramatic piece.

An absolutely gorgeous antique banded agate snuff box. Thick agate top and bottom, with brass edges. The agate of the top and bottom is matched, so the design is carried through. Quite an exceptional quality piece.

Condition: Very nice. No chips or cracks. Colors are magnificent.

A very lovely small mixed metal etui that has four retractable implements. The piece is made of three colors of metal- a copper tone, a gold tone, and a light Shakudo color. There are four sliding knobs which allow the different tools to emerge, and retract. There a small knife, a small curved knife ( perhaps for teeth, or nails), a button hook, and a pencil. The etui has a ring and can be suspended on a chain. Very attractive, with an interesting metallic color.

Condition: Very nice.

A very pretty hallmarked sterling silver baby rattle. Pierced, with stars and clover designs, and with four original bells. Celluloid ring and rope chain. The rattle is engraved with N. Harston,, or name of owner, and is hallmarked to 1913.

Condition: Very nice.

A very nice 19th century needlepoint mourning picture. Rather an unusual motif, with two ladies morning at a tomb with a weeping willow in the background. Very nice antique frame.
