This is a really cute vintage celluloid tape measure in the shape of a chubby pig wearing a red top hat. Marked Banff – Alberta - the measure has the original tape metal pull tab. Marked Japan.

This is a very pretty celluloid tape measure in the shape of a wicker basket filled to the brim with fruit. Vivid bright colors. Tape works well and has its original metal pull tab. It is very unusual to find these types of sewing tape measures in such great condition.

This is a very sweet metal sewing tape measure in the shape of a turtle. The turtle’s head is also the pull tab of the measuring tape. Back is heavily decorated, and has the saying "Pull My Head But Not My Leg". Very well modeled, and with good detail. This piece is rather unusual, as it is metal, rather than celluloid.

This is a very sweet miniature beaded pincushion. Very small in size and done in tiny seed beads with gold bead highlights around the circumference and cream silk ends. The little pincushion comes in its original gift box with an inscription on the top… “ A Tiny Beadwork Pincushion – for your collection C. 1820 when beadwork came into fashion“. Beautiful workmanship for such a tiny piece.

A lovely group of antique spool holders with decorated mother of pearl tops in the form of flowers with pierced edges. Bases are bone with metal stems, and the two sections pull apart to insert a spool of thread. Beautiful rich luster to the mother of pearl.

Beautiful antique strawwork needle case. Work of this type was done by prisoners of war using dyed pieces of straw over a wooden shape. Many of these pieces have had their colors faded over the years, but this one has been well cared for, and is both bright and well designed. Tassels on each end give the case an interesting, and unusual touch. C. 1820.

A very sweet vintage pincushion with a ivory colored celluloid basket weave base. The velvet pincushion top is decorated by a silk flower ribbon and two original silk bows. Very attractive and unusual.

Condition: Minor fading of the velvet.

A lovely small antique silver thimble that would probably only suit a young child. The bottom half is engraved with an intricate random design. Unusual to find a thimble this small.

Condition: Very small dent on top half near the side.

An unusual antique ivory and gold sewing pincushion made like an ivory barrel, with a gilded handle and small decorative floral gilded finial. The feet are solid gold, not gilded, which is very unusual. The pincushion material is velvet and appears to be hand painted with different flowers and leaves. This is an unusual and interesting piece.

Size: 2 inches long, 2-1/8 inches to the top of the handle

Condition: very good, a bit of glue residue around the feet where they were reinforced.

A lovely antique mother of pearl Palais Royale crochet hook. It was sold in the shops in the Palais Royale. This piece was likely made to fit into one of the magnificent sewing boxes that the Palais Royale is known for. Made of lustrous mother of pearl, it has a gilded band and top into which the crochet hook is held tight by a decorative steel screw. The top unscrews to hold two other crochet hooks. This is a very beautifully crafted piece.

Size: 4-5/8 inches from top of crochet hook to bottom of holder.

3-7/8 length of holder without crochet hook. Widest part is 1/2 inch across Condition: very good

A beautiful early enameled thimble holder from the late 18th or early 19th century. Color is robin's egg blue enamel with hand painted flowers in relief, and with gold swags in various spots on the surface. It has a white dot on the bottom and top.

Size: 2" long, 1-1/8" wide

Condition: There is very minor crazing in a few spots. A small enamel loss on the white dot at the bottom, and a fine glaze crack on the inside.

Beautiful set of three antique sterling silver ribbon threaders with floral designs. Designs are not exactly the same, but vary to accommodate the width of each piece. All have the same stylized initial. Very attractive.

Condition: Very nice.
