A lovely silk embroidered sampler C. 1896. According to the descendant of the maker of the sampler, she became a countess, and part of the requirements were wonderful sewing skills. The embroidery is magnificent with raised letters in silk and perfectly done on a fine linen background. It is signed and dated 1896. Reframed with matte around embroidery. Size: sight size- 17 X 11 inches. Framed- 22 3/4 X 17 inches. Condition: Very good. Colors bright |
