A lovely antique mother of pearl Palais Royale crochet hook. It was sold in the shops in the Palais Royale. This piece was likely made to fit into one of the magnificent sewing boxes that the Palais Royale is known for. Made of lustrous mother of pearl, it has a gilded band and top into which the crochet hook is held tight by a decorative steel screw. The top unscrews to hold two other crochet hooks. This is a very beautifully crafted piece. Size: 4-5/8 inches from top of crochet hook to bottom of holder. 3-7/8 length of holder without crochet hook. Widest part is 1/2 inch across Condition: very good |
