The Phoenix Muffler, in its original box, is a fine woven cotton gentlemans scarf that was made circa 1908 in Edwardian times. Its purpose was warmth, but with a stylish appearance. The box is patented June 9, Oct. 6, Dec. 29, 1908, and has a beautiful graphic on the cover of a stylish Edwardian couple. Marked also, "Made only by Phoenix Knitting Mills, Milwaukee". The image is copyrighted 1909 by Archie Gunn. The scarf is complete and quite wearable. Condition: Some slight age soiling on the muffler, and some on the box, but is in comparatively good condition.
