This is a wonderful antique cut steel hair comb with a heavy riveted cut steel top in a flower and lozenge design. Each piece is riveted onto a solid brass backing. The comb itself is inserted into what is likely a silver bracket. The piece has not been polished as it has a lovely patina. Each lozenge is about 1/2 inch from top to bottom, creating a very decorative sparkly effect. Condition: Very good. Two of the center tines of the comb have glue at the base, so have probably been broken at one time. Does not really affect the appearance, but may affect the wearability. Very striking appearance. Size: Comb- 5 1/2 inches long. Cut steel part- 3 1/4 X 4 inches. |
