This is a truly lovely eye shaped Georgian memorial, or mourning, brooch. It is a bit different from the usual memorial pieces in that the tomb has the word “love” inscribed on it, as well as two doves nestled on the top representing love. The lady is holding a wreath in her hands and is dressed in a flowing dress of browns and cream. An exquisitely painted piece. The brooch has a C clasp and a long pin, as well as a ring to allow it to be attached to a chain. Condition: Fine Size: 1 5/8 X 7/8 inch. |
