Interesting Vesta Case match safe made from what was once called gutta percha, but now called vulcanite. The case is carved with channels creating raised lines. The top flips up, and there is a striker section along the side, as well as a decorative area on the front with the name 'Sachseln' marked in the center. The case was probably a Victorian souvenir from a spa in the Swiss city of Sachseln. A very unusual piece. Condition: Excellent. Size: 2 5/8 X 1 5/8 X 1/2 inches |
