A lovely Japanese Ginbari cloisonne medallion, unusual in that the irises in the design have raised enamel edges, as does the bud. Beautiful shaded colors in the flowers and leaves. Copper surround to the enamel and mounted on a sterling silver back. Strung with genuine amethyst beads, which match the irises beautifully. A very striking piece of jewelry which would look fabulous by itself as an art piece. Condition: Very nice. Colors amazing. Pendant dates to 1920, but the amethyst necklace added later. Size: medallion- 2 1/4 X 1 5/8 inches. necklace- 19 inches. |
