A very well made leather over wood small traveling sewing, or writing box, marked 'Fenoux 119 - 120 Palais Royale'. The 'e' is somewhat faded out. The box has a rich blue watered silk lining in the top that once held either sewing or writing implements. This section has a locking mechanism. The bottom of the case has 6 varied wood sections with leather edges. The construction of the box is excellent, with metal edging, handle, and lock. No key, but shuts firmly with a sliding spring catch. Quite a fascinating Palsis Royale piece. Condition: Minor wear, but nothing significant. Size: 8 X 5 X 3.25 inches. |
