Very unusual pair of hairpins made of Vauxhall glass. This was a glass originating in the early 1700s at a glasswork factory in Vauxhall, England. These are 19th century and still retain all of the glass intact, which is unusual for this type of glass. These were made to emulate flat cut stones of the type used in Georgian jewelry. An interesting pair. Size: 3-3/8 inches long x 1 inch across the top Condition: Very good for age, minor glass age flaws, but not distracting. |
