Rare retro kitsch …
Hailing from the late 1940’s to early ’50s, this amazing souvenir cuff bracelet is a wonderful piece of Americana! Designed in ribbed chrome with a front flat plaque, the bracelet is hinged and has a front opening, consisting of a chrome bead and slot. Embellishing the front plaque is a figural of an alligator, with SOUVENIR FLORIDA stamped across its tail. The alligator, which has been surmounted to the front element, is crafted in astonishing detail—from its massive and fearsome head, with its open mouth bearing superbly cut teeth; to its reptilian body armor; wrinkled belly; muscular, crouched legs; and sweeping tail. Not only a fabulous jewelry piece that’s a real conversation starter, this is an unusual and exceptionally well made collectible, ideal for display. Hallmarks: No markings. Dimensions: 7” inner circumference x 1/2” wide. The alligator figural measures 2” long x 3/8” tall. Weight: 19.4 grams. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. |
