Circa 1940’s to early ’50s …
What this superbly handwrought pin lacks in size, it makes up for in both design and construction. Circular and deeply convex in shape, it is composed of an expertly executed openwork design depicting a fish and duck, which encircles a malachite cabochon centerpiece. The silver figurals are superbly hand-cut and boast tooled detailing. The high-domed, oval malachite cab displays exceptionally formed alternating bands of light and dark green, and is set in a smooth silver bezel surrounded by a double border of twisted silver roping. The pinback is fitted with a very old, handwrought pin and C-clasp. Hallmarks: No markings, except for what looks like a partial 925 on back. Dimensions: 1-1/4” in diameter. Weight: 7.6 grams. Condition: Excellent vintage condition, definitely collector quality. |
