Artistry in motion …
With a visually stunning design, made all the more captivating by its superb articulated construction, this bracelet is a real attention-getter. Crafted in copper, it is composed of fourteen links, joined together by paperclip connectors at their center. The links boast marvelous chevron or boomerang shapes and, as a whole, they create an intriguing fishbone motif, not unlike the “Naturalistic Fish-Skeleton Design” made famous by Renoir. Boldly modernist in form, yet timeless in its appeal, this is an exceptionally well-made jewelry piece that impeccably graces the wrist of anyone who wears it. HALLMARKS/MAKER: Unmarked, but possibly an unsigned Renoir. DIMENSIONS: 6-7/8” x 1-1/2”. CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition, with only negligible surface wear. The bracelet is fitted with a copper foldover clasp. BOOK PIECE: The Renoir bracelet is featured on page 121 in Copper Art Jewelry by Matthew L. Burkholz and Linda Lichtenberg Kaplan. |
