ˇLuminoso y radiante! …
Here is an exquisite and elegant bracelet crafted by the Taxco silversmith who signed his/her pieces L.S.—an exceptionally skilled artisan whose silver and abalone clamper bracelets and necklaces are treasured collectibles today. Meticulously handwrought, this bracelet is composed of five gracefully curved and deeply convex links, interconnected by floating O-rings at the back. Each link is inlaid with three rows of abalone shell that are separated by fine bands of silver. The shell is extraordinarily iridescent, displaying a remarkable spectrum of color and luminescence. And with the long, slender links alternating in their bowed shapes, the entire bracelet boasts a beautiful, sinuous and undulating design. Simply dazzling! Hallmarks: MEXICO, 925; TAXCO, L.S.; Eagle assay stamp #3 {silhouetted}. L.S. is cited in Bille Hougart’s The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks. Dimensions: 7-1/4” x 3/8”. WEIGHT: 11.1 grams. Condition: Excellent vintage condition, including a secure J-hook closure. |
