Huge Vintage ELZAC ERA Texas Longhorn WOOD LEATHER PIN
Big, bold + bodacious! … This spectacular showstopper dates to the 1940’s, the same period when Elzac was producing its novelty jewelry. Completely handmade, the massive pin employs a variety of materials to create the head of a Texas Longhorn steer. The steer’s face is composed of a finely grained, medium shade hardwood with deeply carved details. The ears are fashioned from leather that has been shaped and inserted directly into the sides of the wooden face. The bull’s thick forelock is cut from real cowhide. The imposing horns are honed from a single piece of lighter shade wood, which has been pinned to the main wood section and covered by the forelock. And as a fabulous final touch, a large metal ring has been inserted through the steer’s nose. Solidly constructed and wonderfully dimensional, this is a great conversation piece for a jeans jacket or bag!

MARKS/MAKER: Unmarked. DIMENSIONS: 5-1/2” x 3-1/2”. CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition, definitely collector quality, including a secure, rollover-locking clasp that has been riveted into the wooden pinback.
