Dating from the 1930’s or early ’40s, this gorgeous brooch was handwrought entirely en repoussé. Impressive in both dimension and design, it depicts a gazelle at full gallop. The maestro-worthy silver répoussage is exceptional, as are the debossing, cutwork, deep incising, and oxidizing, which imbue the pin with exquisite sculptural detail and character. As an added accent, the gazelle’s eye is made of a high-domed, bezel-set, turquoise cabochon that lends remarkable expression to the work. This is a superlative jewelry piece, perfect to adorn a lapel or bag, as well as to display with pride in any pre-Eagle Mexican silver collection. Hallmarks: MADE IN MEXICO; SILVER.
