Nice small, almost miniature, working telescope or spyglass. This has a single slide out tub for focusing. The telescope is made of solid brass and is marked on the barrel MERMAID. No other marks. Measures 6 inches closed and extends to 9.5 inches. The main barrel is about 5/8 inch in diameter. Focuses fine. Leatherette box, with satin and felt interior, is made for this telescope and is in very good condition.

Wonderful little microscope for students in its original box. Made in England by Signalling Equipment Ltd. in the 1940s. This is the Students Microscope No. 1. With magnification of 44X optically & mechanically of the highest quality. Still has its original decal. It has slide clips, a reflecting mirror and a slide focusing mechanism. Focuses fine. Stands about 5 inches tall. The original box is a bit rough, but still pretty neat.

This is a fantastic old English textured tan leather portfolio with a handle like a small briefcase. It holds stationery, notes and a writing pad – basically a small portable secretary. It is monogrammed “E. M. Moran” and included are several sheets of fine note paper inscribed: Nathan Moran / 41 Sutter Street / San Francisco 4. Nathan Moran was a well-known lawyer in San Francisco in the 1930s. The address indicates this is from prior to 1960...
